OK! This is kind of long but please take the time to read!
Some of you may remember this time last year our church did an event called LoveGave Bikes where we raised money to buy bikes for kids that don't have the money to receive Christmas gifts while also having the perfect opportunity to share the gospel.
Well, this year our church is doing another event! It's going to be LoveGave Food, and it's going to be used to help feed kids that are on free/reduced lunch during the year that may not be able to eat while they are on vacation. We will be raising money to buy food for as many kids as possible.
For those that may not know, the fun thing about this event is it is a 24/7 event for 3 straight days (December 1-3rd), and that we have people broadcasting a live internet stream for 58 hours straight from a scissor lift high above Wal-Mart.
To up the ante this year, we have THREE (3) different locations! Two of them are in Charleston, and for those of you who know MarySue and me, you'll understand why I'm excited - the third location will be in Jackson, MS (where MarySue is from!) How cool is that? We're going to have 3 different scissor lifts, three different live streams, at three different Walmarts, and the proceeds will benefit the school district in their respective areas.
So... all this to say, I would LOVE to see some generous Downhomie participation. Even miles and miles away, you can donate money online to this cause! I'm not sure if the donation area is up yet, but even if it's not when the time comes you can donate and I invite you all to participate!
