I thought they played a bit too fast IMO, and I'm not talking about the reworked part where Brian May and Roger Taylor came out.  Maybe thats what Idol wanted them to do tho, who knows.  Marc seemed a bit nervous too, I thought he missed a few notes.  To be honest, seeing Downhere do "Somebody to Love" live was jaw droppingly good and much better than the QE versions I've seen so far.   This one was OK, but Marc needs to relax a bit...and maybe the band needs some time to come together, they probably haven't played much together yet...

Here is the rehearsal video of the same performance from a couple of days ago...

To be fair, knowing that 15million people are watching you is bound to make you nervous. I think Marc did well, inspite of the nervousness.

I agree 100% except it was "only" 10.5 million viewers for this episode ;-)

^^^^I believe that is a typo. Fox AVERAGED that for the entire night, which included the show after AI, Touch. Idol did about 14.5 or so million viewers last night (which is close enough to my original estimate, especially with DVR viewers not yet factored into those numbers). Touch did in the range of 6-7 million, which is why the average for the night was about 10.45. http://www.spoilertv.com/2012/04/ratings-news-27th-april-2012.html

Trust me, any other week, I'd love to believe that Idol went so low. ;)

Hey did you see that the queen extravaganza actually got a standing ovation.   Steven Tyler triumphantly started it. That's pretty hard to get.  I mean.......the judges weren't even there during Katy Perry's performance.  lol

^^^^Hey, when you got talent, you got talent. And they got Marc, so they definitely had talent on that stage. ;)

So the official ratings are in for American Idol......15 million watched it live.....while 16.1 million watched it with three days of DVR included.  Which is awesome=]          I got this from my tv guide btw....

And if even a fraction of them start following Marc, he's gonna be getting a lot of new fans! :D
